The 1984 is committed to remaining accessible to the entirety of the St Andrews community, which is why we do not charge membership fees for Thursday debates. All are welcome, regardless of previous experience, knowledge, or engagement with the committee. Special or formal events which require booking spaces may be subject to change upon absolute necessity. 

Our committee is a tight knit group, and are extremely passionate about producing the best possible content for our debates. Committee members meet on average twice a week. Applications typically open in mid-Candlemas, and will be advertised on all social media platforms.
