Kate Gilmore is a Professor-in-Practice with the International Development Department of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and an Honorary Professor with the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex. She is also Chair of the Board of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), Vice Chair of the Interpeace Board, Co-Chair of the WHO Human Reproduction Programme’s Gender and Rights Advisory Panel, and Honorary President of Cambridge University for Reproductive Rights. Previously Kate served as Deputy Executive Director of the UN Population Fund and as UN Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights. In her early career, she served as Executive Deputy Secretary General of Amnesty International and worked also in Australia’s health sector and on violence against women.
The Convention on the Rights of the Child
